The Hot Seat: Kean
While most cover bands end up slaving away in dive bars, British band Keane broke out and broke through to begin recording some original classics. Their full-length debut album Hopes and Fears proved they were more than just Coldplay clones. Keane have some college connections (vocalist Tom Chaplin left Edinburgh University to focus on the band), so sitting in mtvU’s Hot Seat was a natural proposition for TK. Check him out confessing to Mexican mayhem and giving some pointed advice to Keane’s critics.
