'Profoundly insulting' Equitable offer
Equitable Life policyholders could receive just £400m in compensation from the government for losses they suffered in the collapse of the UK life assurer. The Equitable Members Action Group decried the report’s conclusions as "profoundly insulting". Paul J Davies, insurance correspondent, explains the pay-out plan and the response it has received.
