The Hurricane
Denzel Washington turns in a world-class performance as Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, a middleweight boxer and legendary political prisoner (Bob Dylan's "Hurricane" recounts some of his trials and tribulations.) Hurricane Carter was a contender for the middleweight title, when in 1966 he was implicated and convicted of murder. Always maintaining his innocence, Carter believed he'd been singled out for the crime since he was well-known as a civil rights activist. The Hurricane is based on Carter's Kafka-esque true story of prejudice, injustice, and faith. Directed by Norman Jewison.\u000d\u000a\u000d\u000a
