Tsuboya New Year Rice Cake Making Party!At Naha Municipal Tsuboya Pottery MuseumTsuboya, Naha City, OkinawaJan. 8th, 2011Rice cake (Mochi in Japanese) is very important food for Japanese New Year celebration and it is traditional to eat it on New Year days. On 8tth of January, 2011, New Year Rice Cake Making Party was held at Naha Municipal Tsuboya Pottery Museum in Tsuboya, Naha City. Many people gathered and enjoyed making rice cake on traditional way, by using pestles and mortars, and eating give away rice cakes. The party is held every year with great neighbor’s contribution and tourists are welcome! Making rice cake is fun. Moreover, one can enjoy free rice cakes! :)Tsuboya is a very old district where pottery studios and shops are open. Yachimun Street is laid near Kokusai Street and it is only 5 minutes walking from monorail Makishi station.
