Over-eaters or money-makers?
Eating competitions began thousands of years ago. American tradition began in 1916 at Nathan's Famous Hot Dog eating contest on Coney Island. Back then, there was no way to know if binging was bad for you. Today, medical experts are concerned at the growing popularity of competitive eating. Something people now call a professional sport.
