Amoureux de jazz, il a lui même était professeur de guitare, et grand admirateur d’Albert Cohen, notamment de son roman Belle du Seigneur, il se lance dans l'écriture et publie en 2001 son premier roman Inversion de l'idiotie de l'influence de deux Polonais, qui reçoit le prix Mauriac.
