Grandfather had returned from overseas to rebuild the nation. He helped design the national flag and emblem. He witnessed the People’s Republic's rites of passage from pariah to respectable. Father was in the Intelligenzia, a photographer recording 30 years of vicissitudes. Daughter was born in 1978, the first generation under reform and opening up policies, espousing the values of the contemporary youth. Grandson is newly born. What future does he face?
