１日に日本相撲協会の理事選で初当選した貴乃花親方（３７）が一夜明けた２日、「すがすがしく、身の引き締まる思いで、新たな、将来性のある道を歩まないといけない」などと心境を語った。４日に、新理事として理事会に出席する。
