Maasai Mara National Reserve
Maasai Mara National Reserve is a continuation of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The Mara is mostly an open savannah, with patches of bush and woodland. When I visited the Mara in the beginning of 2010, we experienced both hot weather with a scorching sun, as well as rain, hail, thunder and lightning. Quite peculiar, since December to February is the hot dry season in Kenya. However, weather patterns have changed and rainy and dry seasons aren’t that distinct anymore. At the Mara, I saw my first lion! Not just one, but a pride of 22 lions! There were 4 grown males, 4 grown females, 7 young 2-year old males and 7 cubs. The pride had caught 2 buffalos! That's quite extraordinary, cause buffalos are large animals and don't go down that easy. Follow my adventure in The Mara through this video. Meet lions, Topis, Hippos, GIraffes and also the Maasai Warriors. Enjoy! Camera: Canon 7D Lenses: 70-200mm f/2.8 24-70mm f/2.8 16-35mm f/2.8 + Canon EF 2x extender Extras: Z-finder
