SEF definition
A new form of trading platform was envisaged in the Dodd-Frank over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives legislation. The definition of a such a SEF or swap execution facility however remains unclear. Richard Repetto, principal of equity research at Sandler O’Neill, discusses with Jeremy Grant what the guidelines for SEF should involve bearing in mind the risks and opportunities from possible market fragmentation.
