A single mother, Brenda Martin, is dragged from her car and car-jacked — with her four-year-old son asleep in the back seat.  She blames an African-American man from the projects for the kidnapping. The projects are surrounded and shut down, creating a racial controversy. A group who locates lostchildren becomes involved and suggests that Detective Council (Samuel Jackson) look in Freedomland, an abandoned asylum for children.
