Doping for Gold
Imagine if today’s athletes were unknowingly involved in a government-sponsored secret doping program, leaving them with tarnished honors, broken bodies and damaged psyches. Doping for Gold investigates one of the most alarming cover-ups in the history of the Olympic Games - East Germany's organized use of steroids and testosterone to bolster its athletes' performance from 1960s through the 1980s. This program received a 2009 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Science, Technology and Nature Programming.
