Bavaria’s eccentric king Ludwig II is perhaps best remembered for building spectacular residences, including the famous fairy-tale castle Neuschwanstein. He died in 1886 at Lake Starnberg under mysterious circumstances. Ludwig's life story continues to fascinate people and the 125th anniversary of his death is marked by special events and exhibitions.
