In two years’ time, half a million People in Hong Kong will be aged over 75. The Government’s policy is to encourage the elderly to spend their sunset years at home and not in an institution. But even its main advisor admits efforts to provide homecare or daycare services to old folks are knitted with problems. Producer Renato Reyes reports a review of the elderly homecare service launched nearly a decade before is underway.
