In Committee From The House Of Commons House of Commons Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates (May 31st, 2010) Representatives from two solar energy companies clarified their business relationship with former Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer. The committee heard from Joe Jordan, director of the Upper Canada Solar Generation Ltd., and Milfred Hammerbacher, president of Canadian Solar Solutions Inc. Green Power Generation Corp., the firm co-founded by Jaffer, had tried to get federal funding from the Green Infrastructure Fund for three solar projects. One of the projects was being developed by the companies run by Jordan and Hammerbacher. Both witnesses said they had never asked Jaffer or his company to seek funding on their behalf. Jaffer is facing allegations of improper lobbying.
