COOP Ale Works, OKC
OKLAHOMA CITY The folks behind COOP Ale Works in Oklahoma City want to make a beer that Oklahomans can be proud of. Opened in 2008, the brewery quickly zeroed in on four popular brews: two light beers: Horny Toad and Zeppelin German Wheat, and two darker beers: Native Amber and the ten-percent alcohol DNR. Theyve become extremely popular, both for their beer and their beliefs. COOP Ale Works strives to be environmentally conscious, using wind energy and recycled materials. Theyve also met with local restaurants to match their beers with the most complementary foods, as with wine. The brewery already has its beers in more than 35 locations statewide, and fans can find those locations through social networking sites such as Facebook or through an iPhone application. All this extra effort and outreach goes into COOP Ale Works beer, along with the hops, to produce a beer Oklahomans will be proud to call their own. For more, visit TravelOK.com.
