First Ground Test of the RazErBlades
RazErblades, a refinement of RazEr’s motor technology and the result of a year of peer pressure and egging, all packaged into a set of inline skates. Four 100 watt brushless DC hub motors power the 'blades (and you) along at design speeds of 10 to 15 miles per hour. Each skate is a single channel motor vehicle with two drive wheels and 60 watt-hour (22.2v and 2.6Ah) lithium polymer battery. The design of the direct-drive brushless motors adds minimal drag, so the skates may be used completely unpowered, or as supplement to applied motor power. The controls are fully wireless, handled by 2.4Ghz radio modules, and are based on a wristpad sensor that detects application of wrist and forearm bending force. The hands, therefore, are free to move and swing to retain natural skating motion or hold objects
