Scrums Rona Ambrose, Minister for the Status of Women, defended the government’s decision to cut funding to women’s groups. Liberal MPs Anita Neville and Marlene Jennings, NDP Leader Jack Layton and Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe criticized the government’s decision.   Layton and Duceppe as well as NDP MP Pat Martin discussed proposals to broaden the Federal Lobbying Act.
