THE RETROSPECTS (Short film)
A short film submitted as an entry for the "Dreamscape" CGChallenge XXVI organized by the CGSociety.org. From the original storyboarding to the final video, I believe, it took about two months to finish this. It was possible since the challenge allowed the use of pre-made models. The human model and one of the city shots were made with premade models--of course--my own. The human model is a lasted version of what I had created and have been refining ever since--as long as I can remember. One of my uploaded vimeo videos entitled "Man Walking" was made with a previous version of that model. All the other models and props are new works of mine created specifically for this challenge. I’ve been studying and writing music as l long as I've been studying CG. This short film should come as no suprise, since it comes from a 40-year-old guy who spend no less than 20 years studying CG and music--even if though books and online tutorials. I would like to thank the develpers of Blender, and the folks at Eyeon software, Cakewalk, and Greenbutton who made this video possible. This short film showcases a technique I discovered to visualize a massive tsunami scene using Blender. I'm afraid that this could bring up painful memories of the recent tragedy, which happened sometime after the submission of this video. Please be assure of my deepest condolences for our friends in Japan.
