Präsident Hugo Chavez kehrt rechtzeitig zum Jubiläum nach einer Krebsoperation aus Kuba zurück. Wegen seiner Krankheit nahm der 56-jährige jedoch nicht selbst an der Parade teil, sondern gab eine kurze Ansprache von seinem Palast aus.
