中大研究發現加入針灸治療弱視比只戴眼鏡有效
中大眼科及視覺科學學系與汕頭大學一項合作研究發現，加入針灸治療弱視，比單靠西醫傳統治療有效。 研究06年開始，為超過170名弱視兒童進行臨床測試。3至6歲兒童組別中，一部份只戴眼鏡，另一部份既戴眼鏡亦用針灸，15週後，只戴眼鏡的弱視兒童，治療前只看到視力表6行字母，之後提高到8行；兼用針灸的一組則可多看一行，弱視治愈率達57%，比眼鏡組多出42%。 研究顯示，針灸可成為眼科輔助及替代治療。中大及汕頭大學會繼續利用針灸，治療其他眼病，如青光眼及老花眼等，希望尋找更適合眼疾病人的聯合療治。
