'Showtime' installation at W London
Creating a 'response to the landscape' is the mission of many an architect or designer but nobody has achieved this more literally than Jason Bruges Studio at W Hotels' new London outpost in Leicester Square. Bruges and his team of interactive designers and architects have wrapped the hotel in a constantly changing veil of light that mimics and reinterprets the colours of the surrounding buildings and skyline 24 hours a day, thanks to eight cameras mounted on the roof. Titled 'Showtime', the installation 'observes and participates in the life of Leicester Square,' says the studio, and fronts a 192-guest room hotel, designed by Jestico + Whiles.Read about Jason Bruges Studio’s 'Pea Souper' installation at the recent Yota Space digital art festival in St Petersburg
