福島第1原発事故を受け東京開催が危ぶまれていた体操世界選手権、予定通り10月開催へ
福島第1原発の事故の影響を受け、東京開催が危ぶまれていた体操の世界選手権が、予定通り、10月に東京で行われることが決まった。地元開催で、エース・内村航平選手(22)が、前人未到の個人総合3連覇を目指す。内村選手は「世界体操東京、日本の力を見せつけます」と話した。日本体操協会は、アメリカで開かれた評議員会で、東京開催の安全性をアピールした。これを受け、国際体操連盟は「科学的なデータからも、東京で開催して問題ない」として、開催を宣言した。
