Presidential and Treasury Department Adviser Elizabeth Warren testified on the implementation of and congressional oversight of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). CFPB opens on July 21, 2011, and was created as part of the 2010 financial reform law to regulate mortgages and credit cards.  The hearing began in progress and ended abruptly due to C-SPAN’s commitment to coverage of the House of Representatives.
