The Thermals - Never Listen To Me
On their 2010 album, The Thermals teamed up with Chris Walla to deliver something a little more personal. The aptly named Personal Life deals with the band more than their political and religious preoccupations of past records. It’s fitting that the video for second single "Never Listen To Me" should feature the band playing in the woods as separate pieces, while a random assortment of shadowed faces (and eventually the whole band) dance under a bridge. The whole thing is spackled in home-video grit, making it instantly personable and fun even in its nervous uncertainty. Sounds like current Portland punk at its finest.
