Bloomberg Sports: Buy Howie Kendrick, Sell on Willie Bloomquist
The topic of the day is whether fantasy managers should buy or sell into the hot starts from some Major Leaguers. Sports Analyst Rob Shaw tells us to buy into Howie Kendrick. While he may not hit more than 20 home runs, he should offer some solid run production with a high average. On the other hand, Shaw is not buying into Willie Bloomquist. Despite the decent speed, Bloomquist will loose his starting gig once Stephen Drew returns healthy. Next, Shaw likes Carlos Quentin as a power option who can blast 35-plus home runs if he can stay healthy. Shaw is not as high on Brennan Boesch, he is a streaky hitter who is riding a hot streak. However, once reality sets in, he will be backing up Ryan Raburn. Next, Shaw is buying into Jered Weaver as a Cy Young contender who can rack up a lot of K’s and solid peripheral statistics. In the bullpen, Shaw loves Joel Hanrahan as a strikeout artist who should also offer 30-plus saves this season. Finally, says Jordan Walden, the new closer for the Angels is a long-term solution who will provide fantasy managers with a boost.
