Scrums Liberal Deputy leader Ralph Goodale, Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe and NDP Leader Jack Layton spoke to reporters about Canada’s mission in Afghanistan.  The MPs were asked about Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff’s comments that he is now open to a vote in the House of Commons on the decision to extend the mission past 2011, and about the Bloc’s motion on Thursday to call for a vote on the matter. NDP Justice critic Joe Comartin discussed the issue of Canada’s prostitution laws. The federal and Ontario governments were before the Ontario Court of Appeal today to ask for a stay on Ontario’s prostitution laws, which could be lifted this Saturday. An Ontario court had struck down three key prostitution laws in September.
