Winner Florentyna van Zanten BBC Speaking Awards 2011
iReport — ZEIST – Florentyna van Zanten from the Christelijk Lyceum Zeist was convincingly named the winner of the BBC Public Speaking Awards 2011. More than 200 Dutch students participated in the competition. The British Ambassador, Paul Arkwright, said about Florentyna’s speech: “We liked the pace, the articulation and the strong opening.” DailyChannelTV invited her to give her speech ‘Is life becoming more dangerous? – Big Brother is watching you too’ on television.The winner and runner-up, Riem Alkaissy from the Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest, of the BBC Public Speaking Awards will take part in the English-Speaking Union International Public Speaking Competition 2011 which will take place in London from 23 to 28 May. Both will compete against laureates from all over the world and give a speech entitled ‘Words are not Enough’.  DailyChannelTV will update you about their results!
