iReport — This video has appeared on YOUTUBE and extensively detailed in the  local news "Anniston Star" in Calhoun County Alabama. A local retired  deputy sheriff gave this to me, because he is embarrased that the  Sheriff department’s "scared straight" program is abusing chilren. You  will see Sheriff Amerson, dismiss 3 men, and is filmed by his own  camera, while he beats a defenseless shackeled minor!!.I grew up,  when manadatory busing of kids helped whites and blacks see their  common similarities-yes we had problems; we had a sherrif then-thank  god-who was in favor, and did all he could in making the mingling of  kids from different backgrounds "makeit. I have life long friends who I  never would have met, had I not "mingled" with them. One black football  player and I received scholarships for football. He is the only  highschool chum I still keep up with to this day. Thank God for  desegregation! And now, we want not only "rich" neighborhoodfs to foster  better schools, we are keeping kids from knowing each other. And a  sheriff that beats kids is going back to the desegregaqtion era! My god,  may we see this for what it is. Unfettered childabuse by a police  force. Can you believe the stqate of alabama's ABI is not involved or  investigating? THANK GOD THE FBI IS! I am David Brooks, age 52. I am in my final year of (2nd career)  college. Majoring in ENGLISH EDUCATION (2ndED) at KSU. I recently  transfered from UWG where I recently participated in Professor Tom  Peterson's (HONOR STUDENT) program; where future teachers work with  trouble youth. It is called "SPARK." I     n Carroll County-along with Judges and law enforcement  officials. This program fosters a caring nuturing environment for  youths who need adults and young adults who are focused on their needs  and come across as friends rther than foes.
