６月下旬、過去最高の気温に
気象庁によると、先月２４日は上空の偏西風が日本付近で北に蛇行したため太平洋高気圧が強まり、埼玉・熊谷で６月として国内最高気温となる３９．８℃を記録した。６月下旬の平均気温は、平年に比べて東日本で３．８℃高く、西日本でも３．３℃高くなった。
