Sex and Intimacy in MS
Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) should not have to cut back on intimacy and sex just because they have a neurological disease. People with MS may have altered sensation, decreased libido or poor sex drive, and men may have difficulty with erections. Both sexes may have an inability to reach orgasm. Patients are encouraged to discover new ways to give and receive pleasure. Vibrators and or other sex aids may help increase or decrease sensation. With good communication, some help and adjusted expectations, people with MS need not cut off sex or personal intimacy because of their disease.
