The Trade Trap - Ghana
Countries like Ghana are desperate to trade their way out of poverty. But EU regulations and cheap imports are stifling their industries. Ghana’s markets are flooded with subsidised American maize. Farmers are being priced out of their own markets. While the EU is removing some quotas and tariffs, its list of stringent requirements makes it virtually impossible for Ghanaians to export their goods.
