iReport — An unexpected storm hit Gurnee, Illinois on July 11, 2011 at around 7:45 a.m. Wind shook the house, snapped power lines, and destroyed trees. Power to residences went out shortly after. As of today at 5 p.m. CST, our neighborhood has power, though many surrounding neighborhoods do not. Traffic lights are operational intermittantly with heavy congestion along 41 and 120. Downed trees are a common occurrence in surrounding areas.
