Die Entscheidung kam überraschend - gestern wurde bekannt, dass der Hamburger Projektentwickler ECE nach jahrelangen Diskussionen das Mainzer Karstadt-Gebäude gekauft hat. Doch es wird weiter gestritten: über Größe und Anzahl der Geschäfte der neuen Einkaufsgalerie. Bundesweit gibt es schon einige dieser Shopping-Tempel, auch in Rheinland-Pfalz.
