NASHVILLE, Tenn. â U.S. Senator John McCain held a town hall meeting at the historic Ryman Auditorium on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. CDT.The Ryman Auditorium is the one-time home of the Grand Ole Opry, where many great artists have performed, including Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, and Hank Williams.The event featured John Rich, country music star of the band Big & Rich, Senator Bill Frist, former United States Senator and Senate Majority Leader, and Fred Thompson, former United States Senator and candidate for the 2008 Republican nomination for President of the United States.Included within the discussion:â Obama’s willingness to sit down without preconditions with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a man who early is June 2008 made these statements: "I must announce that the Zionist regime (Israel), with a 60-year record of genocide, plunder, invasion and betrayal is about to die and will soon be erased from the geographical scene...Today, the time for the fall of the satanic power of the United States has come and the countdown to the annihilation of the emperor of power and wealth has started."â Obama's uninformed and ill-advised approach to Iraq, bolstered by the passing of day 876 and counting since Obama last visited Iraq and that Obama has never sat down or asked for a meeting with General David Petraeus, the Commanding General, Multi-National Force - Iraq (MNF-I).â Obama's erroneous predictions that the "surge" would make violence in Iraq worse.
