Brome-Missisquoi
Campaign Politics Brome-MissisquoiWhen the Bloc Quebecois incumbent who had represented this riding from 2006 to 2011 retired, this revived the Liberal Party’s hopes for taking back the seat. The Liberal candidate this time around is former cabinet minister Denis Paradis, who was beaten in the last election. He is running against Christelle Bogosta, who left the NDP to join the Bloc. Caught off guard by Ms. Bogosta’s defection, the NDP was forced to quickly nominate Pierre Jacob as its candidate. The Conservative Party is represented by Nolan Bauerle, a former physical education teacher with the Eastern Township and Val-des-Cerfs school boards. Danielle Young profiles the election campaign in the riding of Brome-Missisquoi, in the Eastern Townships.
