Set in the pre-Civil War South, this passionate drama focuses on the triumphs and tribulations of Drum (Ken Norton), a slave who becomes a ferocious pit fighter as well as a charismatic figure to just about everyone around him. Brutal bodily combat and forbidden emotions dominate the story of Drum’s turbulent life. When a slave revolt breaks out, Drum is forced to make a dangerous decision about where his loyalties lie.
