Avalon
Campaign Politics AvalonOne of the victims of former Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams’ ABC (Anything But Conservative) campaign in the 2008 federal election was Fabian Manning, the Conservative MP from Avalon. After his defeat, Stephen Harper appointed Manning to the Senate, but in March of this year, Manning resigned to run once again in the riding of Avalon. Scott Andrews, the Liberal incumbent is intent on keeping the riding within the Liberal fold. The NDP are hoping that Matthew Fuchs can persuade enough voters to vote New Democrat and the Green Party is represented by Matt Crowder. CPAC’s Roger Bill filed this report from the riding of Avalon in Newfoundland.
