School of the Arts Opens in Chester
The Chester-Upland School of the Arts opened its doors for the first time on September 4, 2008.  Dr. John Alston, associate professor of music at Swarthmore College and the president and founder of the Chester Fund for Education and the Arts, created a partnership with Chester-Upland’s public school district to open this Kindergarten through second grade art school. Dr. Alston and CUSA's principal, Dr. Corinne Ryan, talk about the opening and their expectations for the school year. (Jillian Smith/Inquirer)
