Visions and Fantasies: Concerto for Ocarina and Orchestra Third Movement "Prayer"
"Visions and Fantasies" by Dr. Kristopher Maloy, was the first concerto ever written for ocarina and orchestra. It is an amazing composition. This concerto was premiered on May 2. I had the opportunity to be the soloist with the Town and Country Symphony Orchestra. This is a live recording of the third movement "Prayer." Here’s the original program note written by the composer: "The soloist enters a mystical monastery, and begins to hum a chant-like tune. Her song echoes in the cavernous space, and builds to a moment of spiritual transcendence." If you like to learn more about this concerto, please visit: This concerto requires a triple ocarina. I used STL's Purple Clay Triple Ocarina for this performance.
