Scrums NDP Deputy Leader Thomas Mulcair spoke to reporters about his ethical concerns over former environment minister Jim Prentice’s new job at CIBC. Mulcair and Liberal Public Safety critic Mark Holland commented on the release of more than 1,000 pages of new documents related to G-8 and G-20 summit costs. Liberal MP Denis Coderre and Mario Laframboise, deputy whip of the Bloc Québécois, questioned Conservative MP Andrew Saxton’s involvement in a tax evasion investigation. Saxton was a banker before becoming a MP and he had approved the transfer of funds to a Swiss bank account that is now under investigation. He is now the parliamentary secretary to the president of the treasury board. Coderre and Laframboise were also asked about the incident involving a disguised air passenger. A young Asian man disguised as an elderly Caucasian man was able to board a plane in Hong Kong and land in Canada. The unnamed passenger has applied for refugee status.
