The committee held a hearing about sexual child predators who operate on the Internet and whether or not major Internet service, content providers, and social networking Web sites are doing enough to protect children online and to help catch child predators. Detective Dannahey discussed his undercover work on the social networking site Myspace.com. Posing as a teenager, he was able to gain easy access into a network of high school children and learn personal identifying information about all the friends in that network.
