It's estimated around 10 billion worth of damage has been caused, although the full scale of destruction is not yet clear. Japan has also been hit by a series of strong aftershocks. In Libya, conflict continues over Colonel Moammar Gaddafi's leadership. Fighting has taken place in Ras Lanuf, though it is unclear which side has control over the oil town. A UN humanitarian mission is expected to arrive in Libya on Saturday.
