"Letters from Latta Plantation" Final
"Letters from Latta Plantation" Final — This is a student short documentary of the Latta Plantation located next to the Catawba River in North Carolina, U.S.A . The film is about life on the plantation, slavery, and service in the Confederate Army. It is a treatment of life in the Southern United States during the Civil War Period. The original letters, provided by the Historic Latta Plantation are brought to life using actors in historical costumes of the period. The Latta story is one of the grounds and the people who lived there during the 19th Century from 1820 to 1863. This film is an opportunity to take a glimpse at a significant time in our historical life. This film was made for Film 3050 at The University of North Carolina- Charlotte (Spring 2011).
