All Hands
The film shows two women serving at a railway station restaurant who are busy chatting. In less than half a minute they give away a huge amount of information which would have been very valuable to an enemy spy listening in. When war broke out in 1939 all sides in the war were on the alert for spies or fifth columnists. Fifth columnists were supposedly the enemy in the midst of the people who would listen to careless talk and then either pass on information or carry out acts of sabotage themselves. This film leaves the viewers themselves to work out the message. It is easy to spot the type of information that should not have been given away and the audience could speculate about the consequences of careless talk.
