Man sentenced in robbery, assault of blind man
Tweet   * By: Michael Rosenfield MT. CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) - 23-year-old David Anderson was sentenced to a minimum of 5 years in prison for the assault and robbery of Dan Perron last summer. Perron is legally blind and had just cashed his disability check for about $600. "To pick on somebody helpless there is no defense for that," Macomb County Circuit Judge Peter Maceroni told Anderson. More.. Anderson apologized to Perron for what he went through, but denied being involved in the crime. Perron told the judge he still has nightmares, and is often afraid when he is around groups of young men. "I don’t want to see this happen to me or anybody else," Perron said. "I want to see him turn his life around," Perron said of Anderson. Anderson's teenage brother was also involved in the crime and was sentenced through the juvenile system. Three other men were questioned but never charged.
