CELEBRITY AGENTES DE CAMBIO, WISIN Y YANDEL, GIVE BACK TO HAITI
As a result of the devastating 7.0 earthquake in Haiti on January 12, 2010, thousands of people were left without homes including the boys at St. Joseph’s orphanage in Port-au-Prince. The orphanage was crumbled into an unlivable pile of rubble and lacked necessary funding to rebuild. After hearing about the turmoil, Wisin y Yandel were determined to help and through their heartfelt donation were able to cover the restoration of St. Joseph's Home for the Boys and purchase a new building for the orphanage. The reggaeton duo continued their support by visiting St. Joseph's Home earlier this year. The children gave Wisin y Yandel a warm welcome that included gifts, songs, dances and creative art. "This experience has changed my life," Wisin said. "We are more committed than ever to continue our support for the families of St. Joseph's and to continue helping more children." “Lo que tu cosechas es lo que tu siembras, es real" Wisin added, "y si tu siembras bien y tratas de ayudar a la larga vas a tener una reaccion bien positiva. Podemos lograr hacer un cambio drástico, si todos lo hacemos … y si de verdad todos lo hacemos, podemos llegar a tener un impacto muy grande.” Translation: "You reap what you sow," Wisin added, "and if you do good things and try to help, your actions will have a positive reaction. We all have what it takes to make a drastic [positive] change, and if we would all participate, we can have a very big impact."
