Jon Hutman on Emotional Design
Jon Hutman won an Emmy Award for his production design on the television series "The West Wing." He is currently the production designer, producer and director on the new series "Gideon’s Crossing." He has also collaborated with Robert Redford on "The Horse Whisperer," "Quiz Show" and "A River Runs Through It." Prior to "What Women Want," Hutman designed "Coyote Ugly" for producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Other credits include "Lolita" and "Nell," the latter with Yale classmate Jodie Foster, with whom he had worked on her directorial debut, "Little Man Tate." Other credits include "Flesh & Bone," "Taking Care of Business," "Trespass," "Meet the Applegates" and "Heathers." As an art director, his films include "Worth Winning," "Shag," "Siesta" and "Wanted: Dead or Alive" and, as visual consultant, "Boxing Helena."
