Davenport (Denzel Washington) starts to peel the layers off Antwone’s guarded psyche.  A sailor who exhibits unacceptable violence toward others is remanded to therapy with a navy psychiatrist. When the doctor finally gets him to open up, a horrific childhood is revealed. Together, the doctor and young man probe and begin to heal the past.
