A Little White Ball Changed the Globe
(LinkAsia: July 8, 2011) 40 years ago, an American table tennis team broke the icy relations between the U.S. and China. They played an exhibition game against a Chinese team in Beijing. That small event led to Richard Nixon’s historic visit to China and the establishment of diplomatic and economic relations. Members of both teams from 1971 are in the U.S. to commemorate what came to be known as "Ping Pong Diplomacy". Hosted by Yul Kwon, this weekly half-hour program takes viewers into media about Asia — from Asia -- offering unfiltered insight into one of the most diverse, fast-paced regions of the globe, combining everything from Asia's top television's networks to blog and social media trends.
